Training and Experience
My training integrates psychodynamic, person centred and existential theory and I am able to draw on elements from all of these models, depending on the needs of my client.
In 2014 I obtained an Advanced Post Diploma Certificate in Person Centred Couples Counselling to enable me to expand my one to one work to include working with couples.
I am an Associate member of the Dunton Centre. In addition to my work at The Dunton Centre I provide consultancy support to the counselling service of a local charity.
Before qualifying as a counsellor I worked for many years as a business researcher. The experience of working in this environment has provided me with insight into the day to day pressures and demands that many people experience in their efforts to manage the personal and the professional, and brings a 'real world' perspective to my practice.
How I work
At some point in life, many people find themselves struggling to deal with challenges such as difficult relationships, anxiety, depression or loss. My aim is to provide you with space and time to examine issues which may be difficult to discuss, even with friends and family, in the context of a warm, confidential and non-judgemental counselling relationship. I believe that current distress often originates in early experiences and relationships but, with support, we all have the resources to overcome obstacles and to live life in a more fulfilling way.
I offer both short or long term counselling. I see clients Monday to Friday both during the day and in the evening, although it is usually easier to arrange a day time appointment.
My work with couples is based on the person centred approach.
My fees are £45 for individuals and £55 for couples.
